ETG1000 Basic Bandsaw blade tension is one of the most critical aspects of maintaining cutting accuracy and performance consistency. However, until now, there was no way to quickly and accurately monitor and maintain optimum tension. The Carter Electronic Tension Gauge (ETG™) solves that. With the simple to install and easy to use ETG™, you will be able to set the blade tension desired for any size blade, and return to that exact same tension when blades are replaced. The highly visible digital readout monitors the blade tension at all times even while the saw is running. Unit mounts on the saw frame requiring no direct contact with the blade. Proper tension not only means greater accuracy, but longer blade and machine component life. With the addition of our optional ETG SW1 component box (included with ETG 1000DLX), a safety circuit is added that will cut the power to your saw when your blade drops below a pre-determined tension, as when a blade breaks. Current ETG 1000 units are compatible with most 14" bandsaws that use a standard U shaped tension saddle (i.e. Jet, Delta, Sears etc.) At this time the ETG1000 is not Quick Release compatible.
